Overheard at the Zoo

This is a social media trend I've seen from a few zoos and aquariums (and museums and other cultural attractions).  I'm mixed on my feelings about it.  On one hand, it is kind of funny, highlighting a lot of the incorrect identifications and comments that we hear at our respective facilities all the time.  On the other, I do worry that it may come across as a little snarky.  This is, for the most part, how we want to respond much of the time, not how we actually respond - it's important to treat every guest with respect when the ask a question.  It's probably the first time they've asked it, even if it's the 500th time you've answered it.

That being said, it's also important to learn to read the damn sign once in a while.  Just saying.
