From the News: 21 California condors treated at LA Zoo for lead poisoning
Folks who say they want to do away with zoos are also saying, I suppose, that they are okay with a world without California condors. Without the Herculean efforts of the Los Angeles Zoo and San Diego Wild Animal Park, North America's biggest flying bird would certainly be extinct. Though the condor has been pulled back from the very brink of extinction, it is still one the most threatened birds in America. As recent events in California show us, the fight to save this species is far from over.
PS: Have too much faith in humanity? Don't worry! Read the comments after the article... there are some crazy ass people out there...
